When elegance was a way of life, when dancing alone was inconceivable, nothing was left to chance in the bathroom space either. After its launch in 1946, the iconic Carmen washbasin became the symbol of an era. Because good design lasts forever, seventy years later it is back to revive a timeless style. Roca has recovered the silhouette and character of that emblematic piece, fusing it with the latest innovations to create vintage bathrooms without renouncing the most modern features and materials.
Complete collection for a classic bathroom
The Carmen bathroom collection is synonymous with a style that never goes out of fashion. Its soft, classic lines give the whole collection its charisma: from the sanitary ware to the bathroom furniture, from the taps to the accessories in which every detail has its own reason.
Careful and refined rectangular shapes are used to outline not only the washbasins – available in various sizes and in wall-mounted, pedestal, countertop or vanity versions – but also the bases on which the toilets and bidets sit.
The classic Carmen taps, with handles in an elegant star shape, can be found in a single lever or twin lever design -the latter in a compact, high spout or concealed version-: four options for four very defined basin styles. The pinnacle of sophistication is achieved with the bath or shower taps, with an evocative Victorian design where you can combine hand shower and shower head.
Versatile furniture
Opting for Carmen and its vintage-style bathroom design also means surrendering to the versatility of its storage possibilities. With the warmth of wood as a base, you can fit your countertop basin in a spacious 1300mm long bathroom cabinet and combine its two drawers and two doors with an exclusive marble surface where you can place your toiletries. The two possible finishes for the wood – Satin White and Satin Dark Grey – can be combined with the worktops available in Venato White and Marquina Black.
You can also opt for a two-drawer solution in 800mm with a vanity basin and, if you need more space, add the elegant Carmen auxiliary column, where the glass makes the difference by shaping the door and the height-adjustable shelves that will stand out thanks to its interior LED lighting.
To increase comfort and functionality, all the doors of the Carmen bathroom furniture are reversible opening, so you can choose which way you want to open them depending on the layout of the space in your bathroom. In addition, both the doors and the drawers have a soft closing system to avoid knocks and noises during use.
If what you are looking for is a lighter furniture proposal, you can complete your wall-mounted washbasin with a stainless steel structure that incorporates a towel rail and glass shelf, because simplicity is not at odds with functionality.
Innovation and high quality materials
All the pieces in the Carmen bathroom collection are made from Roca’s exclusive high-quality vitrified ceramic, whose enamel endows them with great hardness and resistance and a shine and white colour that will remain intact despite the passage of time.
The toilet and bidet seats and lids are made of Supralit®, a new antibacterial resin that is not only more resistant to chemicals and yellowing, but also 4 times less porous and therefore more hygienic.
Passion for detail
At Carmen, nothing is chosen at random. In addition to the characteristic vintage rims of the porcelain pieces, there are elements such as the elegant side handle of the toilet that activates the flushing of the cistern.
The passion for details when creating a classic bathroom is also reflected in the return of traditional materials such as wood, marble and glass; as well as in the contrasts of certain finishes: in the hand showers, the combination of chrome and white adds an extra touch of distinction to your bathroom; while in the toilet and bidet covers, the classic white colour can be replaced by a more contemporary dark grey.
The passion for details when creating a bathroom, a wide range of accessories complete the Carmen bathroom collection recovering porcelain and combining it with chrome to put the finishing touch to our bathroom space with a hanger, a towel rack or a soap dish full of personality. Do you dare to live it again?
